Seychelles Endorses SADC Report and Welcomes Peaceful Election in Zimbabwe

The Seychelles Government has congratulated the Government and People of Zimbabwe for organising peaceful elections in accordance with the provisions of the Global Political Agreement (GPA) negotiated following the last elections in 2008.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also confirmed that the Government of Seychelles endorses the preliminary report of the SADC Election Observation Mission (SEOM).

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony of the Conference of the Electoral Commissions Forum of the SADC region held on Tuesday 6th August, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, has asked that the issues flagged in the preliminary SADC report be given full attention.

The Ministry looks forward to the findings of the full SADC report.
