PRESIDENT MICHEL MEETs NEW CHAIRMAN of THE SEYCHELLES FOOTBALL FEDERATION
President James Michel met with the new chairman for the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF), Mr. Joel Decommarmond, at State House this morning.
Mr Decommarmond was accompanied by the secretary general for Seychelles Football Federation, Mr. Jemmy Adela.
It was an opportunity for the President to personally congratulate Mr. Decommarmond in his post. They exchanged views on the future plans for the federation regarding the development of the sport in Seychelles, on-going projects and events, getting more women to play football, international cooperation between the SFF and other football associations, local assistance and the challenges.
“I will continue to give my support to the federation as football is a national game and it has enormous possibilities and scope to succeed,” said President Michel, who is also the Patron of the SFF.
During the meeting President Michel also emphasized joint collaboration between government bodies and the SFF to give more attention to youth participation in this sport, especially at school level. He noted that with the right framework and discipline it will encourage them to play football and stay away from bad influences.
The President wished Mr. Joel Decommarmond every success in his football responsibility.
