Seychelles Ambassador Presents Credentials to President of Kenya
Nairobi | 05.12.18: H.E David Claude Pierre, Ambassador of the Republic of Seychelles to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya presented his Letter of Credentials to H.E. Mr. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of the Republic of Kenya on the 5th December 2018, amidst a special ceremony organized at the Presidential Palace in Nairobi, Kenya. He also presented the Letter of Recall of his predecessor.
On this occasion, Ambassador Pierre conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from H.E. the President of the Republic of Seychelles to H.E. Mr. Kenyatta, for his personal health and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people and government of Kenya.
The Ambassador took the opportunity to thank H.E. Kenyatta for the exceptional hospitality afforded to H.E. Mr. Danny Faure during the recent High Level Conference on Blue Economy that Kenya hosted and, in the same breath, remarked that Seychelles would be honored to welcome H.E. Mr. Kenyatta to its shores on an official/state visit, a comment which H.E. Mr. Kenyatta acknowledged positively.
Ambassador Pierre also said that his accreditation to Kenya signifies Seychelles’ re-assurance of its engagement in cementing the strong ties of friendship that exist between the two countries and that he would be willing to join hands with President Kenyatta in working towards the enhancement of a stronger partnership between Seychelles and Kenya that would be based on common interests, shared values and mutual respect.
The Ambassador further took the opportunity to thank the people and government of Kenya for the contribution that Kenyan citizens are making in the economic development of Seychelles. He took the case of Kenyan teachers working tirelessly in different schools across Seychelles as an example.
During his audience with the President, bilateral matters of mutual interests and bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and Kenya were also discussed.» All news
